Savings Bank

Českolovenské obrněné brigády Street No. 28/610, Valdštejnova Street No. 2

The first building constructed in the style of Old German Renaissance probably by K. Haberzettl in 1898 was replaced by a much larger structure in 1928 and 1929. The robust corner building was built in plain Functionalistic style without any historicist elements. The exterior is characterised by cubic and cylindrical forms, the composition of which results in the actual covering of the coulisse curved section with tower risalits by structural elements that are gradually separated in layers in the upper floors. The overall impression is that of a ship bow, which is accentuated by a polygonal corner oriel. Even though the individual forms are taken from Antiquity, they are applied functionally.

(Kunst 1992, 609)

The town headquarters of the Police of the Czech Republic may be found in the building.
